Review Eachine E011 Mini

Today I'm looking on the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is one other "Inductrix Clone". The headline feature that makes it stand out it the top plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that will get to experience the quad like a skateboard. 
Fun, right? Well, let's get into this evaluate, and see if this is "just another clone" or if it may stand out...
Flying
Plug within the battery, and the quad LED's give a gradual blink. Switch on the distant, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give regular on once it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig will not be loaded, the quad will virtually leap into the air. Without the extra weight of the mini-figure, there's almost not enough down throttle - it is powerful to hover easy as a result of you are a the very backside end of the throttle vary. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they've the ability! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs glad and quickly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops within the air. Flying is clean. The quad does have two "charge" modes, low and high. the small button beneath the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for prime charges, one other press offers one beep for low charges. In low, it moves around smoothly, and pace / tilt / yaw are straightforward to manage. In High, it get a bit more spirited. Still simple to regulate, however will keep newbies on their toes as it zips around. Experienced pilots will almost definitely need to bounce straight to the high charges. Overall, the one unhealthy behavior I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I want it was a bit smoother on the underside end, as it seems to chop energy often when I am descending. And, as talked about before - flying unloaded, it almost will not hover, due to this.
Battery life
Battery life is sweet. I used to be constantly getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the primary 3-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the final half with out and received a strong 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the stock battery, no complaints. I did also fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the stock battery is healthier. As a facet note, Banggood sells a 5-pack of these batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So now we have an amazing flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digital camera that I had used to FPV a small RC car, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an actual fit for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The most important battery plug for the quad was positioned in order that it was easy to solder on the digicam power lead, so just a few screws later, I was ready to fly FPV!

The EF-01 digital camera was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was similar. Unfortunately for me, my camera died before I might fly it more than a few brief flights (the digital camera already had issues from it's car duty days). for positive, although, I will probably be ordering a brand new digicam.
Summary
I have had a whole lot of fun with this quad. It is an effective flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of power. My kids additionally like it - they are going to add Legos to it and build cockpits and other stuff. The quad can carry a decent quantity, but it should run out of energy in about a dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps don't robotically mean crashes - which is sweet for learning to fly. Overall I actually appreciated this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
