Review Eachine E011 Mini

Banggood.com

Today I am wanting on the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is one other "Inductrix Clone". The headline feature that makes it stand out it the top plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that will get to journey the quad like a skateboard. Fun, proper? Well, let's get into this review, and see if that is "just another clone" or if it might stand out...

Flying

Plug within the battery, and the quad LED's give a gradual blink. Switch on the distant, and the quad LED's go to a quick blink as they bind, then give regular on once it is able to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig is not loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the extra weight of the mini-figure, there is virtually not enough down throttle - it's powerful to hover clean as a result of you are a the very bottom finish of the throttle range. Add the little man, or other cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they've the power! Loaded up, the quad remains to be very zippy, and climbs blissful and shortly. Throttle blips are rewarded with good hops in the air. Flying is easy. The quad does have two "fee" modes, high and low. the small button below the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for top rates, another press gives one beep for low charges. In low, it strikes around smoothly, and pace / tilt / yaw are easy to handle. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still simple to control, but will keep rookies on their toes because it zips around. Experienced pilots will most likely want to soar straight to the high rates. Overall, the only bad habit I found with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I wish it was a bit smoother on the bottom finish, because it seems to cut power often when I'm descending. And, as mentioned earlier than - flying unloaded, it almost won't hover, as a consequence of this.

Battery life

Battery life is good. I was persistently getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the primary Three-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the final half with out and bought a strong 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the stock battery, no complaints. I did also fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I bought for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for five minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, however the inventory battery is better. As a aspect word, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.

Mods

So we've got an excellent flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV camera that I had used to FPV a small RC car, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an exact match for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The principal battery plug for the quad was positioned so that it was easy to solder on the camera energy lead, so a couple of screws later, I was ready to fly FPV!

Camera power wires soldered to the back facet of the quad's battery plug

The EF-01 digicam was very shut in weight to the mini-figure, so flying performance was related. Unfortunately for me, my camera died before I may fly it various brief flights (the digital camera already had issues from it is automotive responsibility days). for sure, although, I might be ordering a new digital camera.

Summary

I have had a whole lot of fun with this quad. It is a good flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of energy. My youngsters also like it - they'll add Legos to it and construct cockpits and different stuff. The quad can lift a decent quantity, but it will run out of power in a few dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it easily bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps don't robotically imply crashes - which is nice for studying to fly. Overall I actually appreciated this quad, and provides it two thumbs up!
