Review Eachine E011 Mini

Today I'm wanting on the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that's another "Inductrix Clone". The headline function that makes it stand out it the highest plate has constructing block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that will get to ride the quad like a skateboard. Fun, proper? Well, let's get into this evaluation, and see if that is "just another clone" or if it will probably stand out...
Flying
Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a slow blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give steady on as soon as it is able to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig is just not loaded, the quad will virtually leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there may be virtually not sufficient down throttle - it is tough to hover easy because you are a the very bottom end of the throttle range. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they've the power! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs pleased and quickly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops within the air. Flying is smooth. The quad does have two "fee" modes, high and low. the small button beneath the throttle switches modes - one press provides a double beep for high charges, another press provides one beep for low charges. In low, it strikes around smoothly, and speed / tilt / yaw are simple to handle. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still simple to control, but will hold novices on their toes because it zips round. Experienced pilots will almost certainly wish to leap straight to the excessive charges. Overall, the only dangerous habit I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I wish it was a bit smoother on the underside end, because it seems to cut energy typically when I am descending. And, as talked about before - flying unloaded, it virtually will not hover, on account of this.

Battery life
Battery life is sweet. I was constantly getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the primary 3-Four minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half with out and received a stable 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the stock battery, no complaints. I did also fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for five minutes, with a noticeable lower in punch. They do fly the quad good, however the inventory battery is better. As a aspect notice, Banggood sells a 5-pack of these batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So we've an awesome flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV camera that I had used to FPV a small RC automotive, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an actual match for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The principal battery plug for the quad was positioned so that it was easy to solder on the digicam energy lead, so a number of screws later, I was ready to fly FPV!
Camera energy wires soldered to the back aspect of the quad's battery plug
The EF-01 digital camera was very shut in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was comparable. Unfortunately for me, my digital camera died before I could fly it more than a few short flights (the digital camera already had issues from it's automobile responsibility days). for sure, though, I will probably be ordering a brand new digicam.
Summary
I have had lots of enjoyable with this quad. It is a good flyer, has good battery life, and has plenty of energy. My kids also prefer it - they'll add Legos to it and build cockpits and other stuff. The quad can lift a good quantity, but it's going to run out of energy in a few dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not automatically mean crashes - which is sweet for learning to fly. Overall I actually preferred this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
