Review Eachine E011 Mini

Today I am looking on the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is another "Inductrix Clone". The headline feature that makes it stand out it the top plate has constructing block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to trip the quad like a skateboard. 
Fun, right? Well, let's get into this overview, and see if that is "just another clone" or if it may stand out...
Flying
Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a slow blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a quick blink as they bind, then give regular on as soon as it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig is just not loaded, the quad will virtually leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there may be virtually not enough down throttle - it's powerful to hover easy as a result of you're a the very backside end of the throttle vary. Add the little man, or other cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they've the ability! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs glad and quickly. Throttle blips are rewarded with good hops within the air. Flying is clean. The quad does have two "fee" modes, high and low. the small button beneath the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for high rates, another press gives one beep for low rates. In low, it strikes around smoothly, and velocity / tilt / yaw are simple to manage. In High, it get a bit more spirited. Still simple to regulate, but will keep rookies on their toes as it zips around. Experienced pilots will probably want to leap straight to the high charges. Overall, the one dangerous behavior I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I want it was a bit smoother on the bottom end, as it appears to cut power usually when I am descending. And, as talked about earlier than - flying unloaded, it nearly will not hover, due to this.
Battery life
Battery life is sweet. I was persistently getting 6 minutes with the inventory battery. One flight, I ran the primary 3-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the final half without and got a solid 7 minutes flight. Overall, I like the inventory battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I bought for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for five minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the inventory battery is better. As a side be aware, Banggood sells a 5-pack of these batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So we've got an awesome flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digicam that I had used to FPV a small RC car, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 got here with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an actual fit for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The essential battery plug for the quad was situated in order that it was easy to solder on the digicam power lead, so a number of screws later, I was ready to fly FPV!

The EF-01 camera was very shut in weight to the mini-figure, so flying performance was similar. Unfortunately for me, my digital camera died earlier than I could fly it more than a few quick flights (the digicam already had points from it is automotive duty days). for certain, though, I will probably be ordering a brand new camera.
Summary
I have had a number of enjoyable with this quad. It is an efficient flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of power. My children also prefer it - they may add Legos to it and build cockpits and other stuff. The quad can carry a good amount, however it is going to run out of energy in a few dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps don't automatically imply crashes - which is nice for learning to fly. Overall I really liked this quad, and provides it two thumbs up!
