Review Eachine E011 Mini

Today I am trying on the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is one other "Inductrix Clone". The headline function that makes it stand out it the highest plate has constructing block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to journey the quad like a skateboard. 
Fun, proper? Well, let's get into this overview, and see if this is "just one other clone" or if it will possibly stand out...
Flying
Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a sluggish blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a quick blink as they bind, then give regular on once it is able to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig isn't loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there's virtually not sufficient down throttle - it's tough to hover easy as a result of you are a the very bottom end of the throttle range. Add the little man, or other cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they have the power! Loaded up, the quad is still very zippy, and climbs pleased and quickly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops in the air. Flying is clean. The quad does have two "rate" modes, high and low. the small button under the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for prime charges, another press provides one beep for low charges. In low, it moves around smoothly, and velocity / tilt / yaw are easy to handle. In High, it get a bit more spirited. Still simple to control, but will preserve newbies on their toes as it zips around. Experienced pilots will more than likely wish to soar straight to the high charges. Overall, the one dangerous habit I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I wish it was a bit smoother on the bottom finish, as it seems to chop energy often when I'm descending. And, as talked about earlier than - flying unloaded, it almost will not hover, attributable to this.
Battery life
Battery life is sweet. I used to be constantly getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the first Three-Four minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half without and got a stable 7 minutes flight. Overall, I like the stock battery, no complaints. I did also fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are solely flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the inventory battery is better. As a side be aware, Banggood sells a 5-pack of these batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So we now have a fantastic flying quad, with good battery life, and energy to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV camera that I had used to FPV a small RC car, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 got here with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an exact match for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The predominant battery plug for the quad was situated so that it was straightforward to solder on the camera power lead, so a number of screws later, I was able to fly FPV!

The EF-01 digital camera was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was comparable. Unfortunately for me, my camera died before I could fly it quite a lot of short flights (the camera already had points from it's automobile responsibility days). for positive, although, I might be ordering a brand new digicam.
Summary
I have had a whole lot of fun with this quad. It is an effective flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of power. My children additionally prefer it - they may add Legos to it and construct cockpits and different stuff. The quad can raise a good quantity, but it would run out of power in about a dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it easily bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not automatically imply crashes - which is sweet for learning to fly. Overall I really favored this quad, and provides it two thumbs up!
