Review Eachine E011 Mini

Banggood.com

Today I'm wanting at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that's another "Inductrix Clone". The headline function that makes it stand out it the top plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to ride the quad like a skateboard. Fun, right? Well, let's get into this review, and see if that is "just another clone" or if it could actually stand out...

Flying

Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a slow blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a quick blink as they bind, then give regular on as soon as it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig is not loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the extra weight of the mini-figure, there is virtually not enough down throttle - it's robust to hover easy as a result of you are a the very backside end of the throttle range. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember these 716 motors? yea, they have the ability! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs blissful and shortly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops in the air. Flying is easy. The quad does have two "rate" modes, high and low. the small button under the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for high charges, one other press offers one beep for low charges. In low, it moves around smoothly, and pace / tilt / yaw are easy to handle. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still easy to manage, however will preserve freshmen on their toes as it zips round. Experienced pilots will most certainly want to jump straight to the high charges. Overall, the one dangerous habit I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I want it was a bit smoother on the bottom finish, because it appears to chop energy typically when I am descending. And, as talked about before - flying unloaded, it virtually will not hover, as a consequence of this.

Battery life

Battery life is nice. I was constantly getting 6 minutes with the inventory battery. One flight, I ran the first Three-Four minutes with the mini-figure, then the final half with out and bought a strong 7 minutes flight. Overall, I like the inventory battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for five minutes, with a noticeable lower in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the stock battery is better. As a aspect notice, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.

Mods

So now we have an incredible flying quad, with good battery life, and energy to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digicam that I had used to FPV a small RC automobile, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an exact match for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The primary battery plug for the quad was situated in order that it was easy to solder on the digicam energy lead, so a number of screws later, I used to be ready to fly FPV!

Camera energy wires soldered to the again aspect of the quad's battery plug

The EF-01 camera was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying performance was similar. Unfortunately for me, my camera died before I may fly it more than a few short flights (the camera already had issues from it's automotive obligation days). for sure, though, I will be ordering a new camera.

Summary

I have had a whole lot of enjoyable with this quad. It is an effective flyer, has good battery life, and has plenty of power. My children additionally prefer it - they'll add Legos to it and construct cockpits and different stuff. The quad can raise a decent quantity, but it is going to run out of energy in about a dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not automatically imply crashes - which is sweet for studying to fly. Overall I actually preferred this quad, and provides it two thumbs up!
