Review Eachine E011 Mini

Banggood.com

Today I'm looking at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is another "Inductrix Clone". The headline characteristic that makes it stand out it the highest plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that will get to experience the quad like a skateboard. Fun, right? Well, let's get into this evaluation, and see if that is "just another clone" or if it may stand out...

Flying

Plug within the battery, and the quad LED's give a sluggish blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give regular on once it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig will not be loaded, the quad will virtually leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there's virtually not enough down throttle - it's tough to hover easy because you're a the very bottom finish of the throttle range. Add the little man, or other cargo, and it smooths out. Remember these 716 motors? yea, they have the facility! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs completely satisfied and quickly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops in the air. Flying is easy. The quad does have two "charge" modes, high and low. the small button beneath the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for high rates, one other press provides one beep for low rates. In low, it strikes round easily, and pace / tilt / yaw are straightforward to handle. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still easy to control, however will preserve inexperienced persons on their toes because it zips around. Experienced pilots will more than likely need to jump straight to the excessive charges. Overall, the only dangerous habit I found with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I want it was a bit smoother on the bottom end, as it appears to chop energy often when I'm descending. And, as mentioned earlier than - flying unloaded, it almost won't hover, because of this.

Battery life

Battery life is nice. I used to be persistently getting 6 minutes with the inventory battery. One flight, I ran the primary 3-Four minutes with the mini-figure, then the final half with out and acquired a strong 7 minutes flight. Overall, I like the stock battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are solely flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the inventory battery is healthier. As a facet note, Banggood sells a 5-pack of these batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.

Mods

So we've a great flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digicam that I had used to FPV a small RC automotive, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 got here with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was a precise match for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The foremost battery plug for the quad was located in order that it was easy to solder on the camera energy lead, so a couple of screws later, I used to be ready to fly FPV!

Camera energy wires soldered to the again aspect of the quad's battery plug

The EF-01 camera was very shut in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was similar. Unfortunately for me, my digicam died before I might fly it various quick flights (the digicam already had issues from it is car duty days). for sure, although, I can be ordering a new camera.

Summary

I've had a lot of fun with this quad. It is an effective flyer, has good battery life, and has plenty of energy. My youngsters additionally like it - they'll add Legos to it and construct cockpits and different stuff. The quad can carry a good amount, but it should run out of energy in a few dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it easily bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not mechanically imply crashes - which is sweet for learning to fly. Overall I really liked this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
