Review Eachine E011 Mini
Banggood.com
Today I'm trying on the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is another "Inductrix Clone". The headline characteristic that makes it stand out it the highest plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to experience the quad like a skateboard. Fun, right? Well, let's get into this overview, and see if that is "just one other clone" or if it could actually stand out...
Flying
Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a sluggish blink. Switch on the distant, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give regular on as soon as it is able to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig just isn't loaded, the quad will virtually leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there's virtually not sufficient down throttle - it's robust to hover clean because you are a the very bottom end of the throttle vary. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they have the ability! Loaded up, the quad remains to be very zippy, and climbs completely happy and shortly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops in the air. Flying is smooth. The quad does have two "rate" modes, low and high. the small button below the throttle switches modes - one press offers a double beep for top rates, one other press provides one beep for low charges. In low, it moves around easily, and velocity / tilt / yaw are straightforward to manage. In High, it get a bit more spirited. Still easy to regulate, but will keep learners on their toes as it zips around. Experienced pilots will more than likely wish to jump straight to the excessive rates. Overall, the one dangerous habit I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low range. I wish it was a bit smoother on the bottom finish, as it seems to chop energy typically when I'm descending. And, as mentioned earlier than - flying unloaded, it almost won't hover, attributable to this.

Battery life
Battery life is nice. I used to be consistently getting 6 minutes with the inventory battery. One flight, I ran the primary Three-Four minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half with out and bought a stable 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the inventory battery, no complaints. I did also fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for five minutes, with a noticeable lower in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the inventory battery is best. As a side notice, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So we've got an excellent flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digital camera that I had used to FPV a small RC car, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was a precise fit for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The primary battery plug for the quad was located so that it was easy to solder on the camera power lead, so a number of screws later, I used to be able to fly FPV!
Camera energy wires soldered to the again side of the quad's battery plug
The EF-01 digicam was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was similar. Unfortunately for me, my digital camera died earlier than I may fly it various short flights (the camera already had points from it is automotive obligation days). for positive, although, I will likely be ordering a new camera.
Summary
I have had plenty of fun with this quad. It is an efficient flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of energy. My kids additionally like it - they will add Legos to it and construct cockpits and other stuff. The quad can lift a decent quantity, however it's going to run out of power in a few dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not automatically mean crashes - which is good for studying to fly. Overall I really appreciated this quad, and provides it two thumbs up!
