Review Eachine E011 Mini

Today I'm looking at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that's another "Inductrix Clone". The headline characteristic that makes it stand out it the highest plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to trip the quad like a skateboard. 
Fun, right? Well, let's get into this evaluation, and see if that is "simply another clone" or if it may well stand out...
Flying
Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a slow blink. Switch on the distant, and the quad LED's go to a quick blink as they bind, then give regular on once it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig is just not loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there's nearly not enough down throttle - it is powerful to hover easy because you are a the very bottom finish of the throttle vary. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember these 716 motors? yea, they've the facility! Loaded up, the quad remains to be very zippy, and climbs joyful and quickly. Throttle blips are rewarded with good hops in the air. Flying is smooth. The quad does have two "rate" modes, high and low. the small button below the throttle switches modes - one press provides a double beep for high charges, another press gives one beep for low rates. In low, it moves around smoothly, and velocity / tilt / yaw are simple to manage. In High, it get a bit more spirited. Still straightforward to manage, but will preserve learners on their toes because it zips around. Experienced pilots will more than likely need to leap straight to the high charges. Overall, the only dangerous habit I found with the quad is with the throttle low range. I want it was a bit smoother on the underside end, because it seems to cut power often when I am descending. And, as talked about earlier than - flying unloaded, it nearly will not hover, because of this.
Battery life
Battery life is sweet. I was constantly getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the primary 3-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the final half with out and received a solid 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the stock battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I bought for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are solely flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the inventory battery is healthier. As a side notice, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So now we have an amazing flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV camera that I had used to FPV a small RC car, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 got here with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was a precise fit for some unused mounting holes on the highest of the quad. The essential battery plug for the quad was situated in order that it was straightforward to solder on the digital camera energy lead, so a few screws later, I was ready to fly FPV!

The EF-01 camera was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying performance was similar. Unfortunately for me, my digital camera died before I might fly it various brief flights (the digicam already had points from it is automobile obligation days). for certain, although, I will probably be ordering a brand new digital camera.
Summary
I've had a variety of enjoyable with this quad. It is a good flyer, has good battery life, and has plenty of energy. My children also like it - they are going to add Legos to it and build cockpits and other stuff. The quad can raise an honest amount, but it's going to run out of power in about a dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps don't robotically mean crashes - which is sweet for learning to fly. Overall I really liked this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
