Review Eachine E011 Mini

Today I'm looking at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is another "Inductrix Clone". The headline characteristic that makes it stand out it the highest plate has constructing block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to ride the quad like a skateboard. 
Fun, proper? Well, let's get into this overview, and see if this is "simply another clone" or if it will probably stand out...
Flying
Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a sluggish blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give steady on as soon as it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig just isn't loaded, the quad will virtually leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there is virtually not enough down throttle - it is powerful to hover easy as a result of you are a the very backside end of the throttle vary. Add the little man, or other cargo, and it smooths out. Remember these 716 motors? yea, they've the facility! Loaded up, the quad is still very zippy, and climbs joyful and quickly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops in the air. Flying is clean. The quad does have two "fee" modes, low and high. the small button under the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for prime rates, one other press provides one beep for low rates. In low, it strikes around easily, and velocity / tilt / yaw are easy to manage. In High, it get a bit more spirited. Still simple to manage, however will hold inexperienced persons on their toes as it zips around. Experienced pilots will most likely wish to soar straight to the high charges. Overall, the one dangerous behavior I found with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I want it was a bit smoother on the underside end, because it appears to cut power usually when I'm descending. And, as mentioned before - flying unloaded, it almost won't hover, as a consequence of this.
Battery life
Battery life is good. I used to be persistently getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the first Three-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half without and got a solid 7 minutes flight. Overall, I like the stock battery, no complaints. I did also fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I bought for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are solely flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the stock battery is best. As a aspect observe, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So we have now an incredible flying quad, with good battery life, and energy to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digital camera that I had used to FPV a small RC automobile, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was a precise fit for some unused mounting holes on the highest of the quad. The foremost battery plug for the quad was positioned in order that it was easy to solder on the digicam power lead, so a few screws later, I used to be ready to fly FPV!

The EF-01 camera was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying performance was comparable. Unfortunately for me, my digital camera died before I could fly it quite a lot of short flights (the digicam already had issues from it is car responsibility days). for certain, though, I can be ordering a new camera.
Summary
I've had lots of enjoyable with this quad. It is an efficient flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of energy. My children additionally prefer it - they'll add Legos to it and build cockpits and other stuff. The quad can lift an honest amount, however it is going to run out of energy in a couple of dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not robotically imply crashes - which is nice for studying to fly. Overall I really liked this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
