Review Eachine E011 Mini

Banggood.com

Today I'm trying at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is one other "Inductrix Clone". The headline characteristic that makes it stand out it the top plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to trip the quad like a skateboard. Fun, right? Well, let's get into this review, and see if this is "simply another clone" or if it can stand out...

Flying

Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a sluggish blink. Switch on the distant, and the quad LED's go to a quick blink as they bind, then give steady on once it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig shouldn't be loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the extra weight of the mini-figure, there's virtually not enough down throttle - it is robust to hover clean because you are a the very bottom end of the throttle vary. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember these 716 motors? yea, they have the ability! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs happy and quickly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops in the air. Flying is smooth. The quad does have two "charge" modes, high and low. the small button below the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for top charges, one other press offers one beep for low rates. In low, it moves round easily, and pace / tilt / yaw are simple to handle. In High, it get a bit more spirited. Still easy to regulate, but will preserve newcomers on their toes as it zips round. Experienced pilots will most probably wish to jump straight to the high charges. Overall, the one bad behavior I found with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I want it was a bit smoother on the bottom end, because it appears to chop energy often when I'm descending. And, as mentioned before - flying unloaded, it virtually won't hover, on account of this.

Battery life

Battery life is sweet. I was constantly getting 6 minutes with the inventory battery. One flight, I ran the first Three-Four minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half without and received a stable 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the inventory battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I bought for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable lower in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the stock battery is best. As a aspect note, Banggood sells a 5-pack of these batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.

Mods

So we have an important flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV camera that I had used to FPV a small RC automobile, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was a precise fit for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The major battery plug for the quad was situated in order that it was easy to solder on the camera energy lead, so a few screws later, I was able to fly FPV!

Camera energy wires soldered to the back aspect of the quad's battery plug

The EF-01 digicam was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying performance was comparable. Unfortunately for me, my digicam died earlier than I may fly it various brief flights (the digicam already had points from it's automotive responsibility days). for positive, though, I shall be ordering a brand new camera.

Summary

I've had quite a lot of enjoyable with this quad. It is a good flyer, has good battery life, and has plenty of energy. My youngsters also like it - they are going to add Legos to it and build cockpits and other stuff. The quad can elevate a good amount, but it will run out of power in a couple of dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not mechanically mean crashes - which is good for learning to fly. Overall I actually liked this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
