New Flash Flying Acro Day 3

Review Eachine E011 Mini

Banggood.com

Today I am trying on the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is one other "Inductrix Clone". The headline function that makes it stand out it the highest plate has constructing block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to journey the quad like a skateboard. Fun, right? Well, let's get into this overview, and see if that is "just one other clone" or if it may stand out...

Flying

Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a slow blink. Switch on the distant, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give regular on as soon as it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig just isn't loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there's almost not enough down throttle - it is robust to hover clean as a result of you're a the very bottom finish of the throttle range. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember these 716 motors? yea, they have the facility! Loaded up, the quad is still very zippy, and climbs completely happy and rapidly. Throttle blips are rewarded with good hops within the air. Flying is easy. The quad does have two "charge" modes, low and high. the small button below the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for prime charges, another press gives one beep for low charges. In low, it moves around easily, and velocity / tilt / yaw are easy to manage. In High, it get a bit more spirited. Still easy to manage, however will hold learners on their toes as it zips around. Experienced pilots will almost definitely need to leap straight to the excessive rates. Overall, the one unhealthy habit I found with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I want it was a bit smoother on the underside end, as it seems to cut energy typically when I'm descending. And, as mentioned earlier than - flying unloaded, it almost will not hover, as a consequence of this.

New Flash Flying Acro Day 3

Battery life

Battery life is good. I was constantly getting 6 minutes with the inventory battery. One flight, I ran the first 3-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half with out and got a solid 7 minutes flight. Overall, I like the stock battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, however the inventory battery is healthier. As a side be aware, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.

Mods

So we now have a terrific flying quad, with good battery life, and energy to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digicam that I had used to FPV a small RC automobile, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was a precise fit for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The foremost battery plug for the quad was positioned so that it was straightforward to solder on the camera energy lead, so a few screws later, I was able to fly FPV!

Camera power wires soldered to the back side of the quad's battery plug

The EF-01 digicam was very shut in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was similar. Unfortunately for me, my camera died earlier than I might fly it more than a few quick flights (the digicam already had points from it is car duty days). for sure, though, I will probably be ordering a new digital camera.

Summary

I have had quite a lot of fun with this quad. It is an effective flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of power. My children additionally like it - they will add Legos to it and construct cockpits and other stuff. The quad can lift a good quantity, however it can run out of energy in a few dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not automatically imply crashes - which is good for studying to fly. Overall I really preferred this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
