Review Eachine E011 Mini

Today I'm looking at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is one other "Inductrix Clone". The headline function that makes it stand out it the top plate has constructing block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that will get to ride the quad like a skateboard. 
Fun, right? Well, let's get into this overview, and see if that is "just another clone" or if it may well stand out...
Flying
Plug within the battery, and the quad LED's give a slow blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give regular on as soon as it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig just isn't loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there is virtually not enough down throttle - it is powerful to hover clean as a result of you're a the very bottom finish of the throttle vary. Add the little man, or other cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they have the power! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs glad and shortly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops in the air. Flying is clean. The quad does have two "fee" modes, low and high. the small button beneath the throttle switches modes - one press provides a double beep for top charges, another press gives one beep for low charges. In low, it moves round smoothly, and pace / tilt / yaw are simple to handle. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still simple to regulate, but will maintain freshmen on their toes because it zips around. Experienced pilots will most probably need to bounce straight to the excessive charges. Overall, the one unhealthy behavior I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low range. I wish it was a bit smoother on the underside finish, as it appears to cut power usually when I am descending. And, as talked about before - flying unloaded, it almost won't hover, due to this.
Battery life
Battery life is nice. I was constantly getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the primary 3-Four minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half without and obtained a solid 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the inventory battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are solely flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable lower in punch. They do fly the quad good, however the inventory battery is better. As a aspect observe, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So we have a fantastic flying quad, with good battery life, and energy to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV camera that I had used to FPV a small RC automobile, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an actual fit for some unused mounting holes on the highest of the quad. The major battery plug for the quad was positioned so that it was easy to solder on the camera energy lead, so just a few screws later, I used to be able to fly FPV!

The EF-01 digital camera was very shut in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was comparable. Unfortunately for me, my camera died earlier than I might fly it various quick flights (the camera already had issues from it's automobile duty days). for certain, although, I might be ordering a new camera.
Summary
I've had numerous enjoyable with this quad. It is an efficient flyer, has good battery life, and has plenty of energy. My youngsters also like it - they'll add Legos to it and build cockpits and other stuff. The quad can carry an honest amount, but it'll run out of power in a few dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it easily bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not automatically mean crashes - which is good for studying to fly. Overall I actually appreciated this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
