Eachine E011 Acro Day 6

Review Eachine E011 Mini

Banggood.com

Today I am wanting at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that is another "Inductrix Clone". The headline feature that makes it stand out it the highest plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to experience the quad like a skateboard. Fun, proper? Well, let's get into this review, and see if that is "simply another clone" or if it will probably stand out...

Flying

Plug within the battery, and the quad LED's give a sluggish blink. Switch on the distant, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give steady on as soon as it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig is not loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there's nearly not enough down throttle - it's powerful to hover smooth because you're a the very bottom finish of the throttle range. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they have the power! Loaded up, the quad remains to be very zippy, and climbs completely happy and rapidly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops within the air. Flying is smooth. The quad does have two "fee" modes, high and low. the small button under the throttle switches modes - one press gives a double beep for high rates, one other press gives one beep for low charges. In low, it strikes round easily, and velocity / tilt / yaw are simple to handle. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still easy to regulate, however will keep inexperienced persons on their toes because it zips around. Experienced pilots will probably wish to soar straight to the excessive charges. Overall, the one bad habit I found with the quad is with the throttle low range. I want it was a bit smoother on the bottom end, as it appears to cut energy typically when I'm descending. And, as talked about earlier than - flying unloaded, it virtually won't hover, because of this.

Battery life

Battery life is nice. I used to be persistently getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the primary 3-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half without and acquired a stable 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the stock battery, no complaints. I did also fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable lower in punch. They do fly the quad good, however the stock battery is better. As a facet be aware, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.

Mods

So we now have a great flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digicam that I had used to FPV a small RC car, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was a precise fit for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The foremost battery plug for the quad was located in order that it was easy to solder on the digital camera energy lead, so a couple of screws later, I was able to fly FPV!

Camera energy wires soldered to the back side of the quad's battery plug

The EF-01 digital camera was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was similar. Unfortunately for me, my camera died before I might fly it various brief flights (the camera already had issues from it is automotive duty days). for certain, although, I might be ordering a new digicam.

Summary

I have had quite a lot of fun with this quad. It is an effective flyer, has good battery life, and has plenty of energy. My kids additionally prefer it - they are going to add Legos to it and construct cockpits and other stuff. The quad can elevate a decent amount, but it'll run out of energy in a few dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it easily bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps don't routinely imply crashes - which is good for learning to fly. Overall I really favored this quad, and provides it two thumbs up!
