Review Eachine E011 Mini

Today I am wanting on the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that's one other "Inductrix Clone". The headline characteristic that makes it stand out it the highest plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that will get to trip the quad like a skateboard. 
Fun, right? Well, let's get into this evaluation, and see if this is "simply one other clone" or if it might stand out...
Flying
Plug within the battery, and the quad LED's give a sluggish blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a quick blink as they bind, then give regular on as soon as it is ready to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig isn't loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there's almost not enough down throttle - it's powerful to hover easy because you're a the very bottom finish of the throttle range. Add the little man, or different cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they have the ability! Loaded up, the quad remains to be very zippy, and climbs completely happy and shortly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops in the air. Flying is easy. The quad does have two "fee" modes, low and high. the small button below the throttle switches modes - one press offers a double beep for prime charges, one other press offers one beep for low charges. In low, it strikes around easily, and velocity / tilt / yaw are easy to manage. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still straightforward to control, but will preserve novices on their toes because it zips round. Experienced pilots will almost definitely wish to soar straight to the high charges. Overall, the only dangerous behavior I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low vary. I wish it was a bit smoother on the bottom finish, as it appears to cut power often when I'm descending. And, as mentioned earlier than - flying unloaded, it nearly will not hover, attributable to this.
Battery life
Battery life is sweet. I used to be persistently getting 6 minutes with the stock battery. One flight, I ran the primary Three-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the final half without and got a solid 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the stock battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I bought for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are solely flying for five minutes, with a noticeable decrease in punch. They do fly the quad good, however the inventory battery is best. As a side be aware, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.
Mods
So we now have an incredible flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV camera that I had used to FPV a small RC automotive, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an exact match for some unused mounting holes on the highest of the quad. The predominant battery plug for the quad was positioned in order that it was easy to solder on the digital camera energy lead, so a couple of screws later, I was able to fly FPV!

The EF-01 camera was very close in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was related. Unfortunately for me, my camera died earlier than I could fly it more than a few quick flights (the digicam already had points from it is automotive obligation days). for certain, though, I will probably be ordering a brand new camera.
Summary
I've had lots of enjoyable with this quad. It is an efficient flyer, has good battery life, and has plenty of power. My children also prefer it - they may add Legos to it and construct cockpits and other stuff. The quad can lift a good amount, however it will run out of energy in a couple of dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps don't routinely mean crashes - which is sweet for learning to fly. Overall I actually appreciated this quad, and provides it two thumbs up!
