Review Eachine E011 Mini

Banggood.com

Today I'm looking at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that's another "Inductrix Clone". The headline feature that makes it stand out it the highest plate has constructing block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that will get to ride the quad like a skateboard. Fun, right? Well, let's get into this review, and see if that is "just one other clone" or if it may possibly stand out...

Flying

Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a slow blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a quick blink as they bind, then give regular on once it is able to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig shouldn't be loaded, the quad will virtually leap into the air. Without the extra weight of the mini-figure, there is virtually not enough down throttle - it is powerful to hover clean as a result of you are a the very backside finish of the throttle range. Add the little man, or other cargo, and it smooths out. Remember these 716 motors? yea, they've the ability! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs joyful and shortly. Throttle blips are rewarded with good hops in the air. Flying is clean. The quad does have two "rate" modes, high and low. the small button beneath the throttle switches modes - one press offers a double beep for top charges, another press offers one beep for low rates. In low, it strikes round easily, and speed / tilt / yaw are simple to manage. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still easy to regulate, however will keep rookies on their toes as it zips round. Experienced pilots will most certainly want to soar straight to the excessive rates. Overall, the one unhealthy behavior I found with the quad is with the throttle low range. I want it was a bit smoother on the bottom end, as it appears to cut power often when I'm descending. And, as talked about earlier than - flying unloaded, it virtually won't hover, because of this.

Battery life

Battery life is sweet. I was consistently getting 6 minutes with the inventory battery. One flight, I ran the primary Three-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the last half without and bought a solid 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the inventory battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are only flying for five minutes, with a noticeable lower in punch. They do fly the quad good, however the stock battery is better. As a facet word, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.

Mods

So we have now an important flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV camera that I had used to FPV a small RC automotive, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 got here with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an exact match for some unused mounting holes on the top of the quad. The most important battery plug for the quad was situated so that it was simple to solder on the digital camera energy lead, so a couple of screws later, I used to be able to fly FPV!

Camera energy wires soldered to the again aspect of the quad's battery plug

The EF-01 digicam was very shut in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was related. Unfortunately for me, my digicam died before I may fly it quite a lot of brief flights (the digital camera already had points from it is automotive obligation days). for sure, although, I will probably be ordering a new digicam.

Summary

I have had quite a lot of fun with this quad. It is an effective flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of energy. My kids also like it - they'll add Legos to it and build cockpits and different stuff. The quad can carry a good quantity, but it'll run out of energy in about a dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it simply bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps do not automatically mean crashes - which is good for learning to fly. Overall I actually appreciated this quad, and provides it two thumbs up!
