Review Eachine E011 Mini

Banggood.com

Today I am wanting at the Eachine E011 "Block Drone". This is a small quad that's one other "Inductrix Clone". The headline characteristic that makes it stand out it the highest plate has building block / Lego attachments! Also, it comes with a lego-ish mini-figure, that gets to experience the quad like a skateboard. Fun, proper? Well, let's get into this assessment, and see if that is "simply another clone" or if it will probably stand out...

Flying

Plug in the battery, and the quad LED's give a gradual blink. Switch on the remote, and the quad LED's go to a fast blink as they bind, then give regular on as soon as it is able to fly. Give the quad a blip of throttle, and if the mini-fig is just not loaded, the quad will practically leap into the air. Without the additional weight of the mini-figure, there may be almost not enough down throttle - it is robust to hover smooth because you're a the very backside finish of the throttle range. Add the little man, or other cargo, and it smooths out. Remember those 716 motors? yea, they've the ability! Loaded up, the quad continues to be very zippy, and climbs completely satisfied and shortly. Throttle blips are rewarded with nice hops within the air. Flying is clean. The quad does have two "price" modes, high and low. the small button under the throttle switches modes - one press provides a double beep for top charges, another press gives one beep for low rates. In low, it moves round easily, and pace / tilt / yaw are simple to manage. In High, it get a bit extra spirited. Still simple to control, however will maintain newbies on their toes because it zips round. Experienced pilots will most definitely need to leap straight to the high charges. Overall, the one bad habit I discovered with the quad is with the throttle low range. I wish it was a bit smoother on the bottom end, as it seems to cut energy typically when I'm descending. And, as mentioned before - flying unloaded, it nearly will not hover, on account of this.

Battery life

Battery life is sweet. I was consistently getting 6 minutes with the inventory battery. One flight, I ran the primary Three-4 minutes with the mini-figure, then the final half without and received a strong 7 minutes flight. Overall, I just like the inventory battery, no complaints. I did additionally fly the quad with some Amazon batteries I purchased for my Syma X11. These are 380mah packs, with no printed C-rating. They are solely flying for 5 minutes, with a noticeable lower in punch. They do fly the quad good, but the inventory battery is best. As a aspect be aware, Banggood sells a 5-pack of those batteries, with a multi-pack charger, for about $16.

Mods

So we now have an incredible flying quad, with good battery life, and power to spare, what to do? How about FPV! I had a EF-01 FPV digital camera that I had used to FPV a small RC automotive, so I pulled it for the E011. The EF-01 came with a mounting plate that, as luck would have it, was an actual match for some unused mounting holes on the highest of the quad. The essential battery plug for the quad was positioned in order that it was simple to solder on the camera energy lead, so a few screws later, I was able to fly FPV!

Camera energy wires soldered to the back facet of the quad's battery plug

The EF-01 digital camera was very shut in weight to the mini-figure, so flying efficiency was similar. Unfortunately for me, my digicam died earlier than I might fly it quite a lot of quick flights (the digicam already had issues from it's automotive responsibility days). for positive, though, I might be ordering a brand new camera.

Summary

I have had a number of enjoyable with this quad. It is an efficient flyer, has good battery life, and has loads of energy. My kids also like it - they may add Legos to it and build cockpits and other stuff. The quad can carry a decent quantity, however it's going to run out of energy in about a dozen small blocks. With the ducted props, it easily bounces off of stuff when flying, so small bumps don't routinely mean crashes - which is nice for studying to fly. Overall I really preferred this quad, and give it two thumbs up!
